A retirement planner in one HTML file, works offline, nothing uploaded
Models a concentrated-stock retirement plan holding by holding, with after-tax proceeds per sale.
Torsalis is a single offline HTML file that plans retirement around specific holdings rather than generic accounts: each stock or fund compounds at its own growth rate, sells are tagged brokerage/pre-tax/Roth with a cost basis, and every withdrawal is grossed up to show what you actually net after capital-gains and income tax. It compares tax-smart versus pro-rata sell ordering (one test portfolio differed by $479,959 in lifetime tax), models a market crash at retirement for sequence-of-returns risk, and runs Monte Carlo with per-asset volatility entirely in the browser. Nothing is uploaded — it runs free in the browser, with a one-time $99 charge to own the file.

What holds up
- +Models each holding's own growth rate and cost basis, unlike planners that only take 'brokerage, $X, 7%'.
- +Compares tax-smart vs. pro-rata sell order — one test case differed by $479,959 in lifetime tax.
- +Runs entirely offline in your browser — nothing is uploaded, and it's free to try before you pay to own it.
Mind the limits
- −Built for concentrated, single-holding-driven portfolios — diversified index investors have simpler tools.
- −Full free use is on their page only — owning a private copy of the file costs $99 once.
