Chiplab is an MCP server that lets AI coding agents build, simulate, and test firmware against a virtual instance of the actual target chip, matching real peripherals and interrupt timing instead of a generic CPU emulator. It bundles licensed toolchains so agents can compile without installing them, and can inject synthetic sensor data into a running simulation. Supports bare-metal Rust, Embassy, Zephyr, and FreeRTOS targets.

What holds up
- +Matches real peripherals and interrupt timing, not generic emulation
- +Licensed toolchains (IAR, ARMCC, HighTec ASIL-D) included, no install
- +Injects synthetic sensor data (camera, CAN bus, IMU) for testing
