Comment Scraper opens every collapsed reply and 'load more comments' on a Reddit thread, one request every 1.5 seconds so it reads like a person scrolling, then exports the whole thing with scores and nesting intact to CSV, JSON or numbered Markdown. It shows both how many comments it actually fetched and how many Reddit claims exist, instead of rounding the difference away — 812 fetched against 845 'Reddit says exist' in its own example, since Reddit's count can include deleted or hidden comments. It strips usernames from exports and keeps your scraped threads in the browser for 30 days, never on its own servers.

What holds up

  • +Shows fetched-vs-claimed counts separately (e.g. 812 of 845) instead of rounding up silently.
  • +No usernames in exports, and threads live only in your browser for 30 days, never on their servers.
  • +Opens every collapsed reply and 'load more comments' automatically — no manual clicking per thread.
  • +Free, no account needed to export, works in both Chrome and Edge.

Mind the limits

  • −Only works on Reddit and Hacker News thread pages — no other forums or sites.
  • −Runs on your own logged-in session, unlike the official API's approved-key route.
