This project is a proxy DLL that enables NVIDIA's DLSS-G frame generation on RTX 20 and RTX 30 series cards, which don't officially support it. It swaps in a version.dll (or another proxy name if the game already claims that one) and rewrites the GPU architecture the game and Streamline see, without touching Nvidia's own DLSS upscaling components. On the default optimized kernel, generated frames match official DLSS-G bit-for-bit on tested RTX 3080 Ti and 2080 Ti hardware; a faster, lossy kernel option trades some image quality for speed. Windows 10/11, D3D12 only — Vulkan support is explicitly ruled out as too unstable to maintain.

What holds up

  • +Free and open source — no cost to add frame generation your card wasn't sold with
  • +Bit-for-bit identical output to official DLSS-G at the default setting, per their own tests
  • +No CUDA Toolkit or Python needed — drop in two files and it works
  • +Changelog documents real driver-reset and corruption bugs by version, not just feature adds

Mind the limits

  • −Unofficial reverse-engineered patch — driver updates have broken it before (issues #535-#542)
  • −Vulkan isn't supported and the author calls it unlikely to happen — D3D12 games only
  • −Needs a specific driver range (591.86/610.74 tested); older drivers fall back to a slower path
