Houndarr plugs into your existing Radarr, Sonarr, Lidarr, Readarr, or Whisparr stack and does what their built-in "Search All Missing" button doesn't: works through missing and below-quality-cutoff items on a schedule, in small batches with configurable sleep intervals, per-item cooldowns, and hourly API caps, so it doesn't overwhelm your indexers. It runs as a single Docker container with a SQLite database, encrypts API keys at rest (Fernet AES-128-CBC + HMAC-SHA256), and makes zero outbound connections beyond your own *arr instances. It's deliberately narrow: no download-client integration, no indexer management, no request workflows, and no multi-user support.

What holds up

  • +Zero telemetry — the only network traffic goes to your own *arr instances, nothing to a developer server.
  • +API keys encrypted at rest (Fernet AES-128-CBC + HMAC-SHA256) and never sent back to the browser.
  • +Per-instance batch size, cooldown, and hourly cap controls, so you set exactly how hard it hits indexers.

Mind the limits

  • Single admin user only — no multi-user support if more than one person needs access.
  • Doesn't touch downloads, indexers, or requests — you still need your existing *arr and Overseerr setup.
