Hyperfrontend runs each team's frontend feature in its own sandboxed iframe and composes them at build time or runtime, so one team's release schedule doesn't block another's — the pitch is ending 'we're blocked on Platform.' It's open source, MIT-licensed, with zero runtime dependencies, and every code sample in its docs is tagged with the exact package version and date it was run against. An enterprise edition has been announced but isn't detailed yet.

What holds up

  • +Open source, MIT-licensed, zero runtime dependencies — nothing proprietary to get locked into
  • +Every doc code sample is tagged with the package version and date it ran, so you know if it's stale
  • +Each feature runs in its own iframe, so one team's failure doesn't take down the rest of the page

Mind the limits

  • −Iframe isolation means passing data between features goes through a message broker, not direct calls
  • −Enterprise edition is only 'announced' — pricing and scope for larger teams aren't public yet
