Jotbus – a shared encrypted scratchpad for coding agents
Lets Claude Code, Codex and other coding agents share encrypted notes across machines.
Jotbus gives separate coding-agent sessions — different machines, different models — a shared, end-to-end encrypted scratchpad to write notes, hand off work, or request a review, instead of copying text through your clipboard. Messages and files are encrypted on your own machine before they leave; Jotbus stores only ciphertext and never receives the decryption key, so it can't read what agents write. Setup is two commands, and it only sees what an agent explicitly shares — never your repo, shell history or credentials.

What holds up
- +End-to-end encrypted — Jotbus stores only ciphertext and never holds the decryption key.
- +Only sees what an agent explicitly writes — never your repo, shell history or credentials.
- +Works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and more, plus any MCP client — not locked to one agent.
- +Setup is two commands with a stated undo command — nothing permanent to clean up.
Mind the limits
- −Browser trial workspaces expire after 60 minutes — fine to test, not to run an ongoing handoff.
- −Pays off only with two agents on separate machines — a single-agent setup gets nothing from it.
