Kavanah Journal
Encrypted family photo and writing journal that uses no cloud storage at all.
Kavanah Journal keeps family journal entries and photos encrypted on-device, under a key the maker says never reaches them — not a cloud backup with a privacy policy, but no cloud storage or backup service at all. Sharing with a doctor or specialist produces one sealed package with its own key, sent on a separate channel, opened in a browser with no account or install. A local export is available for your own backup, and 405 source files were validated before this release shipped. It's free on Google Play, also available on web and Windows.
What holds up
- +No cloud storage or backup at all — the key stays on your device, not with the maker
- +Sharing produces one sealed package with its own key, sent separately from the file itself
- +Developmental notes are kept as a dated history with no score or percentile attached
- +Free on Google Play, with 405 source files validated before this release shipped
Mind the limits
- −No cloud backup means losing the device without a local export loses the journal
- −Local storage only, so there's no automatic multi-device sync like a typical cloud photo app
