KidSight
Scores YouTube kids' videos by age so you don't have to guess what's inside
KidSight rates YouTube videos already in its library against a written checklist — pace and sensory load, what actually happens in the video, what it teaches (if anything), and safety flags like ads or scary moments — then sorts them by your child's exact age. The same video can read as a good fit at age 2 and get filtered out of the lineup by age 10, with the card explaining why. Videos still play on YouTube itself; KidSight just helps you pick which one to press play on, and it states plainly that nobody pays for placement.

What holds up
- +States plainly that nobody pays for placement — no ads, sponsorships or affiliate deals
- +Same video gets a different verdict at different ages, with the card explaining why
- +Every video is checked against the same written criteria, not personal opinion
- +Flags specific safety concerns — ads inside the video, scary moments, product-pushing
Mind the limits
- −Only covers videos already vetted into its library — not every YouTube video gets a card
- −Videos still play on YouTube itself, so its autoplay and recommendations stay in play
