Keeps AI agents and dev jobs running with your MacBook lid closed

LidRun arms Closed-Lid mode with one keystroke (Caps Lock or ⌥L), keeps the Mac awake while it detects a running job — Claude Code, Cursor, Docker, Ollama in Auto Mode, or any command — then releases it to sleep when the job finishes or a safety limit hits: a timer (30 min to 8 hr), charging-only mode, low-battery auto-sleep around 4–5%, or thermal throttling. It logs every keep-awake decision and safety intervention, and is explicit that it's "guardrails, not guarantees" — you still need to keep the laptop ventilated and out of an enclosed bag. Free covers manual keep-awake with timers; Pro ($9 one-time for one Mac, up to $19 for three) adds Auto Mode detection and running arbitrary commands.

What holds up

  • +Detects agents like Claude Code and Cursor even at 0% CPU — never drops them mid-task
  • +Auto-sleeps before the battery dies, around 4–5%, then resumes right where you left off
  • +One-time $9–19 per Mac — no subscription
  • +Logs every keep-awake decision and safety override in a timestamped activity log

Mind the limits

  • Explicitly "guardrails, not guarantees" — still your job to keep it ventilated, not in a bag
  • Auto Mode detection for Claude Code, Cursor, Docker, and Ollama is Pro-only
