made by a human
Timestamps and encrypts your files, then mails you the only key that can open them.
made by a human uploads a file up to 10GB, computes its SHA-256 fingerprint, timestamps that fingerprint under RFC 3161 via freetsa, then encrypts the file and posts a printed certificate carrying the fingerprint, date, access code and decryption key. Once the certificate ships, or the key is downloaded, the service destroys its own copy — so if the card is lost, nobody, including the operator, can recover the file. It proves the file existed unchanged at that moment; it explicitly makes no claim about who or what created it.
What holds up
- +Destroys its own copy of the file after posting or download — nobody but you can open it
- +Timestamp is anchored under RFC 3161 by a third party (freetsa), not just self-reported
- +One real certificate is left permanently open on the site so you can verify the process yourself
- +Format-agnostic up to 10GB per file — a 2MB manuscript and a 9GB film cost the same per size
Mind the limits
- −If the printed key is lost, the file is gone for good — there is no recovery, by design
- −Proves a file existed unchanged on a date — explicitly not proof of who created it
