Matzu
Live AI tour guide that narrates each stop and answers spoken questions as you walk
Matzu is a conversational AI walking guide: it plans your day from a few hints about interests and time, tells you the story of each place as you arrive, and answers spoken questions on the spot — food recommendations come with a link to book the table. It supports English, German, Italian, French and Spanish, and builds themed tours (a cocktail crawl, a Sherlock Holmes walk) if you tell it your obsession. Pricing is pay-as-you-go voice minutes that never expire — 30 minutes free, then $1.99 for 20 minutes up to $9.99 for 150 — with no subscription to cancel.
What holds up
- +Answers spoken follow-up questions live, unlike a pre-recorded audio guide you just press play on
- +Waypoint cards are reorderable and remembered, so you can revisit a stop instead of starting over
- +Pay-as-you-go minutes that never expire — no subscription, from $1.99 for 20 minutes
Mind the limits
- −Only 5 languages supported (English, German, Italian, French, Spanish) — no coverage beyond those
- −Voice minutes run out — heavy question-askers will burn through the free 30 minutes fast
