Netofox
Mac app that reads your whole home network in plain English and flags what's exposed.
Netfox scans every device on your home network — via Bonjour, ARP, SSDP and ping — and turns cryptic names like "ESP-8A2F" into "Espressif gadget running a web server on port 80." It checks each device against six families of risky ports (SSH, databases, smart-home control) and catches things like a Postgres server left open to the whole LAN. It's free for macOS 15.6+, runs entirely on-device with no account or cloud, and stays read-only until you ask for a scan.

What holds up
- +Free, native app for macOS 15.6+ — no account, no cloud, everything runs on your Mac
- +Merges Bonjour, ARP, SSDP and ping into one row per device, so even silent devices show up
- +Names exactly what's exposed, like a Postgres server left open to the whole LAN, not just a generic warning
Mind the limits
- −macOS 15.6+ only — Windows users and older Macs are left out
- −LAN only — refuses to probe anything beyond your network, so internet-facing exposure goes unchecked
