OpenBot is an open-source enterprise agent platform that runs inside a company's own infrastructure, with agents built as named roles — Research, Knowledge, Metrics, and more — each given only the skills and sources its job needs, reachable like a teammate in its own channel. Permission checks are fail-closed: if what a person can see is unclear, the agent returns nothing rather than guessing, and every answer cites the documents behind it. When there's no API worth using, an agent can log in and drive the interface itself, with the screen visible so a human can watch or take over mid-task. It's built on AG-UI, the open agent-interaction protocol the CopilotKit team wrote and maintains.
