Proc-CLI – An agent-friendly CLI tool for process and port management
Finds and kills processes by port, PID, name or path in one command.
Proc is a CLI for macOS, Linux and Windows that targets processes by a leading colon for a port, a number for a PID, or a name matched against the full command line. It handles edge cases other tools skip: zombie processes, orphans left behind by a closed terminal, and processes stuck with --status filters, plus a --dry-run preview before any kill. The --in flag scopes any command to one folder, so `node --in .` only touches this project's node processes, not your editor's.
What holds up
- +Combines multiple targets with commas and dedupes matches, so one command replaces several kill calls
- +Asks for confirmation before killing and offers --dry-run to preview first
- +Dedicated commands for zombie, orphan and stuck processes that killport and fuser don't distinguish
Mind the limits
- −Name matching runs against the full command line, so a broad term like "node" can catch more than intended without --in
