Recall: Vocabulary Trainer
Photographs your own study materials and turns them into spaced-repetition flashcards.
Recall builds flashcards from whatever you're actually studying: photograph a vocab sheet, textbook page or handout and it reads the layout, then rebuilds it as structured cards with senses, examples and pronunciation, catching duplicates before they land. It runs on FSRS to track when each word is actually slipping from memory, rather than reviewing on a fixed schedule, and resurfaces it in your feed, lock screen or audio. Every card keeps its own language pair, so Japanese-German and English-Korean cards can sit in one library, with the interface in nine languages and AI feedback in whichever one you read best. It's free to start, on iPhone.

What holds up
- +Builds cards straight from your own textbook pages or handouts — no starter curriculum to sit through.
- +Uses FSRS to resurface words exactly when they're slipping, not on a fixed review schedule.
- +Mixes language pairs in one library — Japanese-German and English-Korean cards side by side.
- +Scan review catches duplicate cards automatically, merging new senses onto existing ones.
Mind the limits
- −iPhone only — no Android or web version mentioned.
- −Ships with zero words — useless until you photograph your own material to build a library.
