SAAS Init
One command scaffolds a SaaS with auth, payments, database and CI/CD wired in
SAAS Init is a free, open-source CLI (npx saas-init@latest) that generates a Next.js app with your choice of auth provider (Clerk or NextAuth), payment provider (Stripe or Lemon Squeezy), and database (Postgres, SQLite or Supabase), already wired to real webhooks and passing 250+ tests. It positions itself against paid boilerplates (opaque abstractions), free OSS starters (often months out of date) and bare scaffolds like create-t3-app, which it says leave billing and multi-tenant logic for you to build. It's MIT licensed and free, versus an estimated $1,000+ in setup time to build the same foundation by hand.

What holds up
- +Free and MIT licensed, versus $300+ for comparable paid boilerplates
- +250+ tests run automatically on generation, covering auth, billing and API routes
- +Stack-agnostic — pick auth, database and payment provider at init instead of one fixed stack
- +Wires real Stripe/Lemon Squeezy webhooks and subscription state, not placeholder code
Mind the limits
- −Open-source project — long-term maintenance depends on continued upkeep, same risk it accuses others of
