The Morning App
A no-snooze alarm that opens into short wake-up rituals instead of doomscrolling.
The Morning App replaces snooze with a mandatory sequence: the alarm has no snooze button, so stopping it opens a deck of short rituals — breathing, a dream journal, calm music, a one-line evening note read back to you — instead of your phone's usual apps. None of it tracks a streak; skip a day and nothing shames you for it. Some cards (Stretch, Puzzle, a serialized classic novel) are premium, but the basics are free to download on iPhone and Android.
What holds up
- +No snooze button at all — the alarm forces you into the app, not back to sleep
- +No streak tracking — missing a day carries no guilt mechanic
- +Free to download, with only some cards (Stretch, Puzzle, serialized novel) gated to premium
Mind the limits
- −No snooze button is a dealbreaker if you actually rely on snoozing to wake up
- −Premium cards aren't priced on the page — you don't know the cost until you're in the app
