WhoIsCooking
Shows which AI agent is heating your Mac and cools it without stopping the job.
WhoIsCooking lives in your notch and turns dozens of cryptic processes into one row per agent — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Aider and more — so you see which one is cooking your Mac. Cooling moves the work to efficiency cores instead of killing it: the same render drops from 64°C to 50°C and finishes a bit slower. It nudges you when an agent burns CPU for five minutes straight or leaves a dev server running after the session ends.

What holds up
- +One-time $5 purchase — no subscription to track or cancel
- +Cools by shifting work to efficiency cores instead of freezing apps or killing processes
- +Idle draw is about 0% CPU and 14 MB RAM, so it doesn't add to the heat problem it's solving
- +Recognizes eight specific agent tools plus Xcode, ffmpeg and Docker, not just generic CPU hogs
Mind the limits
- −Apple Silicon only — Intel Macs can see CPU use but the app can't read their temperature sensors
- −Cooling trades speed for heat, so a build or render takes longer while it's active
